Repairing not only saves the world from more waste it also creates unique pieces of wearable art, a one of a kind jeans in this case. My main motivation behind creating these pieces of denim art is to take action against today’s fast cycle of ‘use turned to waste’. I only use the traditional japanese mending technique ‘sashiko’ to repair jeans, all by hand, one stitch at the time. The focus and dedication needed to repairing and altering denim with this technique is what makes it a head-turner. A unique piece of wearable art.
